Puppy & Kitten Health in Dayton, OH 45415
Puppies and kittens require special care to ensure they stay healthy and thrive. At North Main Animal Clinic, we recommend a series of vaccinations starting at eight weeks of age. Puppies and kittens are also susceptible to a variety of infectious diseases, so it’s important to keep them up-to-date on their vaccinations and to watch for signs of illness. If you have any concerns about your puppy or kitten’s health, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help you give your new pet the best possible start in life.

Spay and Neuter
The number of domesticated dogs and cats in the United States exceeds the capacity of our society to provide homes for them, leading to millions of dogs and cats being euthanized every year. By choosing to spay and neuter your pet, you are aiding in pet population control in addition to preventing health and potential behavioral problems for your pet.
Spaying your female dog doesn’t only stop their heat cycle. It prevents life-threatening diseases such as breast cancer and pyometra as well as uterine infections.
Neutering your male dog prevents benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate gland), and testicular cancer, and can make them less inclined to roam.
Microchipping
A pet is lost every seven seconds. Microchipped dogs are twice as likely and microchipped cats are twenty times as likely to be returned to their owners when lost. The microchip is inserted under the skin like a vaccine in between your pet’s shoulder blades. This can be done at any visit, call to schedule an appointment today!
